HERE IS THE BREAD WINNER... GREAT READY.... WAIT....

100-300 F4 IS

Sigma used to make a 100-300/4. Bring it back with OS and the Sports tag and we are there.

The rumored EF 16-50/4 IS sounds nice.

I think a lens with apodization filter (like they have patented) would be great, or something with tunable spherical aberration like the Defocus Control Nikkor lenses.
Both ideas are for more bokeh variation away from standard ~neutral bokeh.

But at the moment I am very happy with the Nikkor 105mm/2.0 Defocus Control lens on my Canon cameras, and work on my own apodization (external link) and superfast lenses (external link).

1. A new f1.0 or even f.95 lens L with a non-floating element in whatever FL is easiet to produce a reasonably priced lens.
I am fully aware of the complexities, this is why I am dreaming....

Why no floating elements?
I would prefer with floating elements for good clsoe focus quality, but with no (normal) aspherical lenses to avoid onion ring bokeh.

For me too, a "fullframe" 50-135 f/2.8 would be very useful! Would complete nicely a 24mm.

Just for fun thread...

Canon make 24-70 and 70-200 f2.8 zooms. The troulbe is that to me the most useful focal lengths are 50-135mm ie the long end of one and the short end of the other. Huge financial layout asside, changing lenses all the time is a pain in the butt.

I would absolutely love a 50-135 f2.8 for full frame. I assume it'd be possible ; that's a 2.7x f2.8 zoom, similar to the 24-70 and 70-200. Canon would probably rather people jsut bought both, but I'm sure there's enough people that'd buy all 3

Maybe Sigma or somoene else who is having a hard time competing with canon on like-for-like offerings could fill some of these gaps. Oh and sigma, if you could manage f2 then I will pass you a blank check. Also, i hate extending zooms, so 70-200 style fixed size please, not 24-70 style ;)

What other currently non-existent -- but feasable; yes we'd all like a razor sharp 10-1000mm f1.4 lens the size of a teacup, but it ain't happening -- lenses would people love to see :)

An EF 800mm f/5.6 IS DO lens would be great.

I keep checking for Sigma to announce an updated 100-300 f/4 IS Sports lens. No luck yet. :(

Wish list: EF 100-300 f4 IS, EF 135 f/2 IS.
Perhaps make the 100-300 with DO glass to make it relatively small and light.

I would love to see a 35 f/1.8. When I do street/candid shooting with my 28, it seems a tad too wide.

I'm with the OP. Give me a 50-135 (or even 150) 2.8 IS that works well with TC's. Should be lighter and less expensive than the 70-200 2.8 IS II. I would be content with a 40 pancake, that lens, and a set of TC's.

(Optically, it should be on par with the new 70-200).

This is one reason I like the 24-105 on crop: 38-168. Unfortunately the crop factor also makes it essentially a f/6.3 lens

Yeah I bought the 24-105 thinking it would be a really nice do-it-all lens but (and I'm sorry, I know there are those that love it) I found it really really boring. I would think that 2.8 would be ok -- I like the look of my primes stopped down to 2.8 :)

I took it back a month later and traded it in towards a 135L.
