I wish Guys... the damn things are priced like gold bars.

It kills me to see people spending money and have those things just keep breaking. I am actually surprised, I've always associated Elinchrom with superior quality.

At the risk of being off topic, craigslist is a great tool, and has helped me find a complete studio setup for now, 1000 total. 3 202vf heads, 1 103 head, a 2403CX, stands and soft boxes.

I still lust after elinchroms' golden bullet.... the 74inch indirect.

I've had my issues with Elinchrom gear, so I feel for others that have also.

well, the good thing is the speed ring has now shipped, so even the backorder wasn't a 3 month backorder. I was going to cancel the speedring order last night, too. I might still sell that modifier and get a fotodiox... we'll see

Not brilliant but that is advertised and oif you know a little you'll know that you need to divide the t.5 times by around 3 to get a close approximation.

Paul C Buff kit seems to do well in this respect. i use Quadras so very fast durations available with my A head

Do you just use the stock modeling bulb? or have you changed it to a daylight balanced bulb or something else?

what ever it came with and set the WB in LR

Here's a shot with a BxRi 500 and a 153cm (53") Octa about 12 to 18" from the subject ISO400 and f1.4. (Was just a trial to see how it looked) I should have had the light a little further around. But it works :)

There it is! :)
