38% off Accessories at the Canon Direct Store (Price Mistake!)

Looks like a price mistake at the Canon Store on Accessories for EOS or EF — they sent out either a 20%-off, a 15%-off, or 10%-off coupon by e-mail. But they forgot to enforce that you can only apply one!

For a brief period of time until they correct this mistake, you can get 38% off Accessories at the Canon store. Apply Coupons LUCKY20, LUCKY15, and LUCKY10 in-cart to get the discount.

All accessories are discounted but the best deals are on:

lens caps & lens hoods (including new pinch caps for only $9, compare with $15 elsewhere)
SLR accessories such as diopters, focusing screens, and cables
WFT-E7A Wireless Transmitter for 5D Mark III is $520, compare with $750 elsewhere
WFT-E6A Wireless Transmitter for 1D-X is $366, compare with $536 elsewhere

Basically, anything where their regular price isn’t too outrageous, 38% off is a great deal. Shipping is a flat-rate $5.00 after a $100 purchase. This is a price mistake, so it probably won’t last, and there’s a chance your order may be cancelled. You have been warned!

Sad that even with all this discounting most of the stuff is still cheaper at Amazon/Adorama/B&H. Why does Canon charge $100 for one LP-E6 battery?

I went with this and ordered a couple of the ver. II lens caps which were 66% of what B&H charges. I was able to apply all three coupon codes. Both items were back ordered, so they might not honor the deal. Time will tell. Hoping.

If you were retailer would you want to invest in inventory and then compete with the company selling direct for less?

I'm convinced the LP-E6 batteries with Japanese cells are all from the same manufacturer, whether $10.00 or $100.00
If there's that much "room" in their batteries how thick's the "gravy" in the cameras, lenses and flashes??

Not quite as thick as you would think. Accessories always have a higher margin of profit.

It still accepts the 3 promo codes, but even after applying all 3, with shipping and tax, it's still more expensive then Adorama (free shipping and no tax). I was thinking of getting another focusing screen, but I'll pass.

If steroids are illegal for athletes, should PS be illegal for models?

I always get excited about prices from canon direct. then I add tax and shipping and I get unhappy.

It gets better. Elsewhere, someone mentioned that if you register a new Canon product you just purchased (anywhere), that it will allow you to subtract another 15% from any order, on top of the three coupon codes.

Is this a custom one-time use coupon code?

Don't know, as I used the coupon codes only once. What I know of this is that the Canon site isn't supposed to take multiple coupon codes like this, but it has allowed them for almost a week now, so even if Canon knows of their broken purchase cart, they seemingly aren't in any rush to fix it.

The deal was originally posted at the Canonpricewatch blog last weekend.

Has anyone's order shipped yet? I'm curious to see if this one gets cancelled or not.

I've had several people e-mail and tell me their order shipped. Most people were getting the Wireless File Transmitters (fantastic deal), or loading up on lens caps.
