I heard a Green Heron making his normal sounds and I decided to copy him. We "talked" back and forth for 10 minutes (I had to call a quits). Luckily, know one was around to see me do this :)

So i think 600mm is better as reach for birds and wildlife than 500mm, and so is that 500mm better than 600mm only in price and weight?

The 500 is better in the weight, but the new 600 weighs as much as the older 500 (v1). Therefore you can hand hold the 600. The new 600 is better balanced than the 500mm v1 (not sure about the version 2). You always need a longer lens. The 500 is only better than the 600 in price and weight.
