It's been that price for 2 months unfortunately and it sucks for those trying to offload their 17-55's. Such as myself. haha

More than 2 months. Canon officially lowered the "regular price" on the 17-55mm on August 31st, 2013, along with the 10-22, 24mm IS, 28mm IS, and 35mm IS. I guess they realized their prices weren't competitive...

I still have my 17-55 IS which I bought for $770 in 2008 with a B&H "show code" (remember those?). It's probably the best all-rounder you can find for a crop body.
