I still see people saying that they might "pre-order" this lens. Since it is already released for sale it's just "ordering". Not sure why, but that's driving me crazy. I suppose they may be Nikon shooters, in which case, it would be correct syntax. ?

I think most "pre-order" is hoping for the upgraded / modified / basically fixed version .
Well we have been getting along without the lens and about the only thing tamron is doing
is upsetting people .

Could be because B&H which is a widely used vendor by PTON members still list it as "New Item, Available for pre-order". Like you I cant understand why it would bother you in the least.

Perhaps there was a serious problem.

Or perhaps its just a materials issue.

Can't think of a big natural disaster recently that would have nuked production costs for a while.

Very best,

Very best,

There is no conspiracy. They are just selling everything they can make. I guess owners like me are the one to blame since we keep raving on how much we love our copy.

Maybe B&H will continue to call it pre-order until all lens-mount variants has been released?

I ordered from B&H last week thinking it was a pre-order. Now I am reading this and now know it was out since January. So how long are people waiting for this lens?

Very best,

Or maybe Tamron decided to produce more copy for the Nikon and Sony before the release date, and they don't want to be shorthanded again like what happened with Canon mount. So for now maybe Canon users an wait?

Dunno,

Would be nice if they released some kind of statement to distributors or something to give people an ETA. It just makes me wonder, what happens if I have to return mine, once received, for another copy? Another X month wait? As it is, I may end up on a 500 Bigmos, if they can't get distribution happening. I'm definitely not waiting until this summer, for 4 months, on a lens like this.

So hopefully Tamron pulls it together by next month...

Very best,

They say a 3 day turn around for repair of lenses . They are probably trying to fix
so they don't need to hire more people / train them , then let them go .
I am on list at 2 shops here -
1st , I am touchy / feely person
2nd - I want their advise
3rd - I don't know when I will be home to sign for
4th - I hate standing in line at post office to insure / return .
