1.has strange light on the nose/chin area. regardless of the use of flash your subject (face at least) should be either in all shade or all sun (the ladder needs the old 1 2 3 to avoid squinting)
4. looks very over processed.
5. would be 1000x better if you had put his back to the sun and then flashed (or even just exposed for) his face.(eliminates dark eye shadows)

keep going... you'll get it

2 and 3 look pretty good! I'd warm them up a tad

Im not sure if you renumbered these or added more but I personally love 4 and 5. Otherwise, I think the rest are nice but like Jen mentioned, watch out for that dappled lighting on his face in 2.

I have to think the numbers are off or changed since Jen looked at them, but #1 is very cool. I can see problems with the nose and chin on #2.

I like #4 and #5 a lot, although on #5 there's a weird strip of light running down the N in Mustangs that at first glance looks like bird poop. You may want to clone that out.

Overall, great pics, though. I'm sure he must be happy with them.

First senior of this year. Everyone here will wait until the very last minute if they have them done at all. This young man's mother ordered a ton of pics from her daughter's session two years ago, I'm hoping the same with him. It was also my first time shooting with the 85 1.8 although I was at 5.6 for this shot I think.

Hey Guys...

wanted to share posing with minimal props or no props, i just use the ground, a curb, concrete floor on the studio, and a chair..

lots of time we just try to make it too hard on ourselves.. but it seems simple works for me..

So I had this senior shoot that I was doing. It was a freebie I had donated to a charity auction. I had spoken with the father who was my contact. The Young man was a baseball player and we decided to do a mix of traditional and baseball themed images. The day before the shoot the mother apparently got involved and said absolutely no baseball images. I guess the only shots she ever got of the kid were team and individual shots. So I end up meeting a marginally interested kid on a fairly crappy day. He did his best, but its hard to engage teen boys without any sort of theme.

I have shot in that park a LOT! There is a cool shot you can get if you have younger kids - the white bridge just off this stairway, have the kid look over facing south, Go F4ish. Make sure you see your background!

I flipped the image to make a better FB cover photo, but this is what you get:

(sorry for the FB quality)
