I bet it will be via eBay, maybe buydig or someone like that. Hopefully it's sub $2500.

6ave deal earlier this month was $2559 but I believe they are not an authorized dealer. Would be something if an authorized dealer beat that price.

I wouldn't count on sub-$2500 or being close to the unauthorized prices.

If it's at or below Amazon's price of $2677 / $2699 which we saw in October, I think we should be happy with that, especially if the merchant doesn't charge sales tax.

Since it hasn't started yet I can only assume this is some type of ebay deal or Amazon lighting deal.

I personally never buy from ebay without a good return policy. Even from an authorized dealer. This is through Focus Camera and according to their policy they won't take returns on items over $1200.

Their eBay return policy is 14 days, as per their listing.

I've had great luck buying through authorized sellers on ebay through adorama, PMI and Buydig, but not Focus.

They list their restrictions on the bottom of the page. Last thing on there is anything over $1200.

This is obviously just my own preference. This is a great deal for those in the market for the camera. I would have been tempted if the "freebie" was the battery grip and from a reseller with a decent return policy.

You are right.

I hadn't noticed that, buried deep in the fine print. Seems odd and a bit misleading, as the auction does state a 14 day return policy. I have a contact there and I will ask them to clarify.

Adds $188 for me. :(

Is it on the ebay return policy link? I don't see it there unless I missed it.
