Cool thread and I just found it on UK Amazon...

Perfect for a bag I use at the moment.

Hi.

Maybe late to the party but i need some information.

I need to bring my laptop and my DSLR with me. My computer is 15.5" wide. Any of those bag are big enough to take a laptop that wide? I was having problem buying a 14" laptop so i went with a 15.6" screen but now i have problem finding a bag.

Any information welcome.

Thanks!

First off, there is no padded area for a laptop, there is an area behind the bag to fit a tablet if that. There is no area for a laptop inside the bag other than the empty bag. How much gear are you talking about besides the laptop?

My D80 with 18-55 or 10-20, Nikon 55-200, flash. Not too much but my laptop is a bit wide.

Than this is not the bag you're looking for. With an insert your gear would be fine but squeezing in laptop behind the insert would be close to no cigar.

I have a Tenba (external link). I bought it because it was cheap ($80). One complain though is that my 7D with a grip is just too big but if you don't use a grip then it's fine. I think there's a lot out there, you just have to find one that fits your budget ;)

And since this is a stealth thread. I sometimes take the insert from that bag and put it on a cheap cotton messenger bag (under $20 i forgot the real cost) I got from BassPro

I got it at Vistek in Calgary. Looks like it's more than $80 now tho.

I picked this bag up at the local market for about 25 bucks. 'Puma" messenger bag. I put the inserts from my Vanguard camera bag which is in for repair (part of the stitching came undone). I'm loving this bag.

Holding 700D/grip (my 50D with grip also fits), 18-135mm STM attached to camera, 135L, 85mm f/1.8, 50mm f/1.4, 40mm f/2.8, Nissin Di866 flash and 10" tablet. Still room for another lens, point and shoot, plus bits and pieces.
