Last month, the local shooting range put on their annual competition called Spring Steel, which has been going on for 24 years. It's absolutely amazing how fast some of these people are, especially the pro's. As usual, it was a tiring, but fun day where I got to do my two favorite things that involve shooting. While I awaited my turn to shoot the steel targets, I could shoot the competitors as well!
All of these shots were with the 15-85mm and only yesterday, when I was cleaning up, did I realize I took my 55-250mm lens which would have been much better for closeups of the guns in action.
You'll notice in this shot, her finger is out of the trigger which shows proper trigger control. You will never see a pro with his or her finger on the trigger unless he or she is ready to shoot. In fact, at some matches, that's grounds for disqualification.
This guy is one of the best in the United States.
This is what one of the stages looked like. I forget what, exactly, you had to do, but it's something like start in the first box, shoot some targets, run to the next box, shoot some more, etc, etc. If you don't do it in the right order, you get penalized.
A very nice, expensive gun.
Perfect timing for this shot.
You know you're good when you've got 4 shells in the air at the same time and you haven't missed a target.
