Just purchased a used 1d Mark iii in great condition. Went to the local junior college game to take some shots. Really happy with this camera.

a question for the experimenters (seem to be more on the american side of the pond) hence the question here

i as you know use a 1Dmkiii coupled with a 400mm f5.6 great combo super fast works well .

now having recently acquired a canon mkii 1.4 tc for it something springs to mind ,when i use this combo i am restricted to f8 and centre focus point only ,and get extremely good results with it ,BUT there are times when i wish i could move the focus point around the frame as normal .

so the question is if i taped the first 3 pins to fool the camera as is sometimes done would i then get my moveable a/f points back .don\'t want to mess with this till i know ,hopefully someone will have tried before .

changed systems to MFT olympus omd1-E.M1X , Olympus 100-400 zuiko .., xiaoyi 42.5mm f1.8 . four thirds mmm-2 ,, four thirds 11-22.. and pergear 60mm f2.8 macro

BlackFox- that is a really good question. I have been wondering the same thing myself. I look forward to any answers on that!
