So I got my cancelation notice this morning from Canon and within an hour got a CPW notification one 14L was back in stock. It was gone quickly.

So your saying Canon could not redo my order yesterday when they clearly still had the lens in stock? Crazy!

yah it is a zoo at the office where they handle the refurbs. if you keep complaining and escalating the problem to supervisors you will find someone that has the "authority" to do what you need done. And as far as I have been able to tell "after watching these sales for about 3 years" is that they are not out of stock on these items they justput a few up at a time during the sale. the day before the sale they were in stock and the day after they will be as well. pretty sure the "sale" is just to get you to there site and see that what you want is not there and hopefully you will buy something else. They just through some instock every now and again so they don't get accused of doing exactly what I just described.

The best you can do is call the CS and have the them talk to the marketing department for a rain check if there is any back in stock before the sale ended. That's what they promised when they cancelled my order last time. Chance is rare as 14L is a hot item.

Well the guy I spoke to was supposedly talking to a supervisor and basically telling me nothing can be done. So not sure what else I could have done.

Anyway... got a heads up it just came back in stock and reordered it. Going to hope round 2 works out better! I am going to call the CC company tonight to tell them not to flag it this time :D

Here is hoping for the best!

They charged the lens this morning and no issues... It should ship today! yay!

Great price compared to new... I just hope no issues with the one they send me! Final price was $1637 shipped (sadly $122 in tax, but no way out of it with Canon!...). Also used 3% Mr. Rebates for $45 and my CC offers 1%, or around $16.

So my final cost for the 14L II is around $1575.

Looking forward to trying this lens out.

Has there been any stock added? Why extend it without anything in stock?!

They are trying to sell off the kit/unpopular lenses. every big ticket item they sell on this sale is money lost to them.

I am hoping to see the 60D go for 30% off. Similar to the 7D a couple of weeks ago. If not, I have some collector pieces to unload and trade in a Canon QL17 for CLP.

by far the lamest 20% of sale so far. The only white lens I saw in stock the entire time was the 800. I'm pretty good at snagging lenses during the Canon sales but it seems there were barely any in stock through out the entire sale.

I agree this one was quite lame.

The 200mm f/2L was in-stock for about 15 minutes on Monday, and the 70-200 II was in-stock for all of 10 seconds...

Thank you for making this lame sale a personal success for me.

I couldn't have gotten what I wanted without your help--many thanks!

My 14L II is waiting for me after work... Hoping there are no issues (mainly decentering ones with a lens so wide, along with being a refurb). Looking forward to finally trying this lens out!

During past sales if you were halfway diligent you could get multiple 35l, 85l, 135l, 70-200, 100-400, etc all at once.
