With canon making dedicated video cameras ala 1dc, canon needs to seperate them then. Have a 5dc and 7dc for video with strong aa filters and have a 7d and 5d with outstanding image quality no AA filters. That way we have a choice and no compromise. F*ck video lol. +1 million

Just that I'm damn sure the video haters wouldn't feel like they would come out the winners - just for dropping the video feature the extremely much higher "fully geared" price would be so high that they would also have to drop quite a number of other features they are currently using and have buy something very close to a "totally dumb" model. And still more expensive than Canon's current offerings... I think some points are being missed. I don't mind video, GPS, wifi, espresso maker... So long as it doesn't reduce the quality of the still images I take (primary purpose of the camera) - which, in current form, it does (due to AA filter being so darn thick).

I still think a removable AA filter system could work wonders for everyone, and make Canon more money by making them an "extra". Having various strength levels would also make more money - thin, medium and thick for various purposes. Z... The Canon sensors have a special function where a single scanline read of the sensor can actually read out the average of three scanlines. This means that the sensor can be read three times as fast with only a third number of scanline reads. But it also means that the readout represents a low-pass filtering in the vertical direction. The DiGIC chip could perform a corresponding low-pass filtering in the horisontal direction. 5DMk2 + BG-E6 | 40D + BG-E2N | 350D + BG-E3 + RC-1 | Elan 7E | Minolta Dimage 7U | (Gear thread)

Apr 02, 2014 14:19 | #176 Not want? The 70D sensor... I don't care about anything else (video, tilt screen, wifi, GPS, etc.). Include that stuff, or don't include it, I don't care. But please concentrate on improving still photo IQ.

The one thing I do not want to see is a sensor that is not significantly improved - especially regarding ISO performance. Less than 20MP would be a disappointment as well. Since the 70D is 20MP - which corresponds to the 6D - it would be nice to see at least 22MP or even 24MP. David | Flickr
