In fact, flare is what made this pic, i love it, only that green[CD reflection like] flare almost behind or side of the left chair is distracting, without this one it will be more fabulous shot.

Congrats on your new a7R!

Your 200 2.0 should work just fine with the a7R. I actually found my 300 2.8ISII to be sharper in IQ when used with a7R rather than 1DX (this is obviously only shooting static subjects). I'm assuming it's because of extra MP? Not sure about Metabones, but King adapter doesn't AF with 300 2.8ISII.

I bought this (external link) from Amazon and both batteries and charger work perfectly fine.

I hope my older version of 300 will work fine and be sharper on A7R than my 1DX, we will see that later.

Ok, that one from Amazon is Wasabi brand, but i saw on eBay its written Sony or Genuine battery, but how i can be sure it is really Sony and Genuine just from they wrote it that on title? I prefer to go with original battery, i placed the battery from B&H, but for almost $40 i feel i will not buy much more accessories, on eBay i found those batteries for less than $30, even i found some with 2 batteries for less than $30, say both for $40, it is way better than 1 only for $40, also there are offers with the charger as well, i mean i can buy batteries with charger from eBay for less than $40 or $50, while from B&H, it is hardly i can buy 2 batteries with charger for less than $50.

one last question for you guys....

are metabones speed booster only for APS-C? i haven't seen anyone here talking about it. thanks.

Yes, it is for APS-C only, does not work for full frame.

Thank you. I'm sure you were able to tell but I was actually going for the sun flare shot tightening up the aperture. But you guys are right about that green colored flare being a distraction. :D Not a big deal to me though. :)

Your older 300 should work perfectly fine. Just don't try to shoot it for sports. I'm pretty sure you'd also get a sharper image with a7R than 1DX.

Hmm, I can't really speak for other off-brand batteries. I can tell you that Wasabi batteries last just as long (or even longer) as the oem Sony battery that came with the camera.

are you sure it is not just a defective battery? I thought the same of my brand new Canon 6D yet it was a battery issue.

I guess it could be but id have to buy a new battery to test it. Does your a7r make a sort of clicking/winding sound when you have it charging? You kind of have to put it up to your ear to hear it.

hmmm i immediately got a Sony charger with the second battery and pretty much usually use the charger not a usb cable. it also very well maybe a usb cable connection issue which happens all the time to various devices connected via USB. I can check to see if it makes any noises. The reason I am saying re: battery is that it is extremely rare for a new camera to come DOA these days, this is a super rare occurrence these days

Alright, that would be great if you could check. No light comes on when it is charging either as the manual indicates. I could order a battery and have it by friday and test it but want to see if yours make the same sound. Thanks!
