So I had this senior shoot that I was doing. It was a freebie I had donated to a charity auction. I had spoken with the father who was my contact. The Young man was a baseball player and we decided to do a mix of traditional and baseball themed images. The day before the shoot the mother apparently got involved and said absolutely no baseball images. I guess the only shots she ever got of the kid were team and individual shots. So I end up meeting a marginally interested kid on a fairly crappy day. He did his best, but its hard to engage teen boys without any sort of theme.

He definitely won that battle, those shoes aren't tennies or running shoes. Those are baseball "training shoes" worn in indoor batting cages, facilities and often worn by coaches instead of cleats. Clever fellow!
Nice images btw.

Thanks. I was trying to experiment with the off camera HSS and I would have liked a tad more fill flash. Live and learn.

Attempting to use the shadow to give it a little bit of Florida context.

I am a little disappointed that focus wise he came out a little soft. I would have loved it if I would have been able to get him sharp.

From a senior session today, all natural light, no reflectors, all shot with the Canon 135L.

This was what his mom wanted after she saw what I was doing playing around in Photoshop. She seemed to really like it. The young man, well he was just doing it for his Mother so I gave him props for sucking it up.

This was THE easiest senior I have ever photographed! After we finished, his mom was giving him a hard time about not liking to be photographed. He said "Mom, I don't like being photographed...but I am good at it!"
