I almost exclusively shoot raw, but my subjects usually aren't moving unless its rolling shots of vehicles...

I was shooting a 5d3 with a 70-200L IS II. That shot was at 150mm at 1/1000 and 3200 ISO from field level pretty much just left behind the starting gate. I was rocking my 6fps. I miss my 1dIII....lol.

Nice! I am looking forward to shooting in Metlife in a couple weeks. gonna be fun outdoors. It will be nice not having to wait for the smoke to clear from all of the pyro, this time around.

Flipcrab & Lawdog, I gotta ask,

You didn't get any grief bringing your gear into Reliant? I wanted to bring my
1D4 but read somewhere that ’professional' gear was not allowed.

How did you get your gear in past the gate?

Tony.

I havent had any problems, ive been to reliant, sam boyd, and the superdome, without a hitch. the stadiums dont seem to have a camera policy for SX, only stating no video recording equipment. I am a little nervous about going to metlife at the end of the month. mainly because i have no where to put my gear if i get turned around at the gate. I guess ill just have to figure an alternative to getting it in. like over a fence to a buddy on the otherside. then into a merchandise bag...

And when ya get to the security gate, dont offer view of the full content of your bag, I just opened the top and told them it was a camera bag.

Reliant has such soft security, a buddy and I made it onto the track for the track walk/riders meeting, two years in a row and was never asked about credentials.

Thanks for the info. Wish I had known. I'm dying to find out how my 1D4 + 28-300
combo would work for SX. I shoot plenty of local stuff, but getting to shoot the
Pro's is a once a year opportunity.

Yea im with ya on that, Houston is usually my only stop. but I was able to get to the last round in NJ for relatively cheap, under $300 for flight and race ticket. flying in saturday morning and back out sunday morning. its gonna be fun
