I hacked up the stock strap too - took the end links and webbing and added a 1" nylon webbing through the middle - its a little bit longer than stock, and fits me and the way i shoot better than the stock strap with the big rubber pad.

If the M240 came with that strap i would have been happy - it came instead with a nylon strap with a rubber pad on it.
I really didnt get along with it, so some mods were in order.

That's what you get for going with the cheapo M240. ;)

Ha !
If you only knew what it's really costing me :D

As a side benefit of cheaping out, I can take pictures in colour, I'm not a huge B+W fan (although I have converted more pics to B+W since getting my M than I have ever done before)

I could have really cheaped out and bought an M-E (and had money left over for a summilux instead of the summarit)

And it's not the strap that's the problem, it's actually quite nice - just really don't get along with the rubber pad on it - I typically cut them off everything (but do like the pads on my TTP Retro7 and crumpler bags)

JPang - I love the colour and lines in #1, and the graffiti in #4and5 , im a fan of good graffiti, and amazed at the way good artists can get such good control and effects with a spraycan - I struggle to paint a nice flat properly prepped surface with them, and my stick figures don't look like people (but hey, I can drive a camera)

I hear that; I have the same strap for my MP. It's never even come out of the box (I use Gordy straps for my MP).

Cheers mate; there's plenty of street art around Melbourne.
There's also a few Leica users around too, shot at a recent photowalk with some photogs:
