I'm so glad I found out this program! I just got myself a 60D with 18-135mm lens for $650.

Wow, nice score!

I just ordered the 7D for $840 plus tax & shipping. They're currently 30% off the normal refurb price and no additional discount for the CLP was available according to the two CSRs I spoke to.

This will be a nice step up from my 30D currently in use!

finally saved up enough to call up and get a 60D w/ 70-200 2.8 but was disappointed to see the lens not being in the program anymore. 60D as the earlier posts is 460+taxes. though its not much of a discount based on the prices on the canon website (~5% on some) as they have some sale going on as mentioned here: https://photography-on-the.net …/showthread.php?t=1367557

So it's true that L lenses are no longer available?

There were a couple still available but not the ones I want (24-105 and I believe 17-40). I had purchased 24-105 earlier

I just called and asked about the current prices, since the first post in this thread hasn't been updated in a while. The 6D is still $1367 and the 5D2 is still $1407.

i think that's why this thread hasn't had much action...the prices aren't that great...

So what is the difference between the Loyalty Program, and simply logging in to the Canon account and buy a refurbished product through the account? For example - T3i kit is $479 refurbished. Why would one bother with the 'trade in' through the phone?

$479 becomes $383, so you save roughly $100.

sbi123.... read the first post. You get a 10% to 20% discount off the refurbished price when you trade in a broken Canon camera via the phone.

Tip: If you don't have a broken Canon go to eBay and buy a broken Canon point and shoot camera for $6-$15. Make sure it has a serial number on it as Canon's customer service might ask for it, but not always.
