Just picked up the G16 and the picture quality is great. Autofocus is extremely fast and it does very well in lowlight situations also (much better than the G1X in my opinion, having experience with that camera also). My first G series camera was the G12 and that camera was very impressive also. I do, however wish the MP resolution could be bumped up to 16 MP. 12 MP sensor seems to be rather dated for today's standards. Why are they still sticking with 12 MPs anyway?

12mp is probably sonyhs best effort at IQ/resolution and noise. Its not a large sensor by some standards now.

Eddie really appreciate your comments. I have considered both cameras.
I miss my G9/G11's

No problem. To be fair, I will give the Canon G1X Mark II a chance. The G9 and G11 were great cameras. Why did you get rid of them?

Saw a possible sunset while driving home from dinner. Grabbed my trusty G16
from the center console and captured something I otherwise would not have.

Shot RAW. Processed in LR5.

Rob-

I can't believe the G16 is capable of capturing those kinds of images of the night sky.
And to think that you stitched that together. I can't even get a decent stitch of a
landscape :-D

Well done.

After 10 beers, every little body looks good.
