ptcanon3ti Cream of the Crop More info | Apr 17, 2014 07:43 | #437 So, how do you a7r users find the resolution to be on this camera? How about the dynamic range and noise at high iso? I haven't been seeing many thoughts on those topics. I see most comments about focus issues. Paul

Apr 17, 2014 08:19 | #439 My main issue with a7r is colors and specifically skin colors. I get consistently comments on multiple forums that my Fuji X photos are better than my a7r photos. I can't point out to why but it has been consistent. Perhaps I have much more experience with Fuji X and my learning curve on Fuji. But I keep wondering why. my youtube https://www.youtube.com …b_confirmation=1%5B%2Furl

Noise at high ISO is pretty much on par with the 5DIII. I only manual focus so no issues whatsoever. absolutic wrote in post #16840512 My main issue with a7r is colors and specifically skin colors. Can the shadows and highlights be pushed and pulled farther and your canon raw files? I assume this to be the case since we're talking about an Exmor sensor. Paul

I can push it all the way with no noise. Canon 5D Mark III, Canon 70D, Canon EF 24-105L, Tamron 150-600mm, Tamron 70-200 F2.8 DI VC USD, Sony A7r, Sony FE 55mm F1.8

Are you sure? It is not. Its actually quite noisier than my 5D3 and it starts at ISO 800. It cleans up nice but no where near an 5D3. I've shot more than 15000 shots with 5D3, and in my experience, 5D3 if shot RAW is just as noisy. DXO Labs agree (actually their figures for noise on 5D3 are worse than Sony A7r). The noise pattern on A7r appears at and is quite similar to Nikon D800's behavior. So if one has experience with D800, you are pretty much in the same territory with A7r. The difference in most of the full frame cameras of the last couple years is less than half-stop in any case between the current reining low light King (Nikon DF) and Canons and Sonys. This may change with Sony A7s but who knows. I agree, the noise pattern is better but there is noise at lower ISO on the A7r compare to the 5D3. I only had the camera for a 4 days or so. I need to spend more time with it. Canon 5D Mark III, Canon 70D, Canon EF 24-105L, Tamron 150-600mm, Tamron 70-200 F2.8 DI VC USD, Sony A7r, Sony FE 55mm F1.8

navydoc Cream of the Crop More info | The blossoms of my Indian Hawthorne bushes remind me of popcorn kernels. popcorn blossoms While I was shooting the blossoms, this hummer arrived at the feeder which was right next to me and close to my right ear. I never saw him...but heard him next to me. Without turning my head, I pointed the camera in his general direction and took this shot. I didn't think it was too bad for a blind shot. I did level the image in post. So, shooting a fast hummer using the Sony 55mm lens? No problem. ![]() IMAGE LINK: https://www.flickr.com …66040953@N03/13912720995/ Hummer in my ear Gene - My Photo Gallery ||
