Is there a hidden setting somewhere buried in the menus such that the ISO set for M and the ISO set for Av is independent?

No, but you could save a setting to your C(Custom) on the knob if you wanted to get a different ISO value for a given set of settings.

It's just the way I use the camera. M is for flash, Av is for no flash which generally means Indoors and 800ish ISO, while flash is 100ish ISO. I'll play around with the C some, but don't think it's going to be quite what I'm looking for.

Gah, I have a large spot showing up even at wide open apertures in my pics....looks like I got some big chunk of dust somewhere. Hopefully it is just on the back element of my lens...if not it is on the sensor, yuck.

Did you use a dust blower?

Great! Indeed..how did you clean it?
My 30D has a lot of dust on it and needs a clean to..

With the 70D:

@ARsiega: nice catch and beautiful sky!
@Hermelin: looks like that lens serves you well!
Nmura: the spartan race is that an special event at your place? The last picture 'just shoot' says it all!
RenoWilliams: all photographed with the ' normal' canon 70-300 lens? I have that lens also so nice to see how sharp it can be!

Taken at ground level where the sviweling screen is "only" way to take the photo. I just love the versatility of the 70D.
