Instead of the AF-L method in manual focus mode you mentioned I have been mostly using manual focus and then using the digital dof scale. So far it seems quite accurate i.e. infinity focus when it says it should be. I would have loved a push pull mechanism with proper dof scale or focus distance scale though so that I am fully in control. to be honest I flip flop between both methods. I really depends on how easily an AF point lands on something 1/3 of the way into the scene and then if it locks AF or not. But I ALWAYS use the MF mode so that it can't refocus shot to shot. Overall im loving all the Fuji kit. AF speed is my only slight niggle as it seems to take slightly longer to lock than my 5D2 but I can live with it yeah, the one annoyance for me is AF speed and shot to shot speed for an action series. That's assuming you're using the focus priority setting, but I'm not getting anywhere near 8fps if I am. Basically I was really good at dialing in a scene where I'd rear button AF with AI servo but as soon as I fired off the first shot I'd be setup to where the set would all need the same distance, so I'd let go of the AF button and fire off the sequence. I can effectively setup the camera the same way but the AF time is enough slower with the fuji it doesn't work as well and I miss the first shot in the series if it'd been with the canon. Eddie xpfloyd lookalike ![]() More info | Apr 26, 2014 08:39 | #1189 I can only seem to get servo focus to work with the main shutter button pressed half way. If I use the rear AF-L button (which I normally use to focus) it does its initial focus but doesn't servo. Im not sure if I just need to change a setting or something. If I half press main shutter button it servos fine Sony α7RV | Leica Q2
