I asked what the difference was between these two on a previous post and basically was told there wasn't any. Basically the same lens. If so why would pay $50 more for the Samyang based on B&H pricing? There must be more to this.

They are all made at the same factory, and have different names put on them. Samyang/rokinon/bower/vivitar and maybe a few others. Check the prices of each one- they fluctuate based on the supplier- one week the samyang will be cheaper, next week the bower.

Heya,

They're the same lens in every way except that it's rebranded several times. It's all made by the same manufacturer though. Get the one that is the least expensive.

Very best,

I've always wondered why they use so many different names for their lenses.

All it does is confusing buyers.

The trading companys likely demand to get the lens with their branding.
And probably there are differences, but more in the way these companies handle warranty or support issues.

Here in Germany I bought over Ebay the Samynag 14mm lens, but there is a big trading company "Walimex" which sells a lot of these lenses. They have some cheap lenses (many or all from Samyang), flashes, softboxes, tripods - all under their brand.
