keeping the a7 David?

Vin, those release buttons look like they may get in the way of the C1 (which I use for almost every shot). I don't find the release a problem on mine but if you didn't use C1 a lot or need to be able to find it instinctively it might be nice.

Yeah, i was looking to trade up for the 1D mkiv, but with Sony releasing the A7s, the value of this body dropped so much that i'd rather keep it than take a big loss.

I don't think making a button bigger will help much with camera shake if that is what they are aiming at. Still the price is relatively cheap if you decide to try it.

There are several reasons to get a Sony A7...

1. Light & Compact
2. Focus Peaking (with an adapter you can basically ADD any lens)
3. Full Frame

I enjoy taking this camera everywhere and shooting with it....
Below are Sony A7 + Sony 55mm f/1.8 (Wife and kids)

1.

It's great to just carry one camera and one lens and have without it getting in the way...

What's the verdict on the A7 with the zeiss 35 2.8 vs the RX1?
Is the zeiss 2.8 that far behind?

Cheers!

Any suggestions on what would be the best kit for a primarily Canon shooter looking to add a lighter backup kit at the following prices (all brand new)?

(1) Sony A7 + 28-70 kit lens ($1099) and add 35mm 2.8 ($799)
(2) Sony A7 body only ($999) and add 35mm 2.8 ($799)
(3) Sony RX1 ($1599)
(4) Just Sony A7 + 28-70 ($1099)

I'm primarily use viewfinder so the EVF would be good, but if I get RX1 I doubt I'll add that. I also don't plan on adding additional lenses beyond what I listed, I don't really need them.

Where are you seeing the A7+lens for 1099? that seems to be a killer price!

Godox/Flashpoint r2 system, plus some canon stuff.

As a brand new Sony gear seller myself, I too question where he saw such pricing? I've seen no a7 sell for $999 and no a7 kit for $1099. OTOH, he should be able to score 35mm for around $600 not $800.
