Here are the list on Amazon..

Which should I choose for just normal protection and best quality shots?
Or any other suggestions?

Thanks

Those are mutually exclusive terms.

Before you buy do some reading. I use them when I vacation and general shooting but take them of for important or paid gigs. Many people don't use them. Both sides of the coin

I would stay away from slim line. Lens cap won't stay on. If you decide to buy one be careful with Amazon, etc. Knockoffs. B+W come in a specific packaging.

I love the Hoya HD's personally... I got the clear protection versions (no need for UV models) for a great price. I find them the easiest to clean out of any filter I have ever used, including the high end B+W models. They are slim, but still accept the lens cap as well.

That is good. I purchased a B+H slim line CPL which came with a plastic cap that kept falling off. I then got the new Canon pinch caps. Finally something you can use with the hood but would not catch. I picked up a regular one about month ago. No issues.

I use the b+w 82 kasemann cpl. not a slim, but i dont fret over any vignetting unless it is literally chopping off the corners (not an issue with that particular cpl on the 24-70ii). its an amazing cpl, beautiful results. pricey though.

im either going to a)use a cpl when im walking around in bright light, or b)use the lee nd's and nd grads. never both together. and i refuse to pay $400 for the lee 105 cpl and adapter. ain't gonna do it! ;)

Avoiding the "should you use one debate", I think you're looking for the 007M model from B+W. It's clear, so no Haze or UV properties, just really good optical glass in front of the lens.

I have just purchased the B+W 82mm 007M MRC Nano Coated Clear Glass Protection Filter - XSPD Mount direct from Harrison cameras for my 24-70 II and can recommend it.

Neil,

This is the slimline filter IIR, did you have any problems with th lens cap?

Which lens cap do you have? The old style side tab or the pinch style one?

There are some issues with filters touching the 24-70 II front element.

If you look at how the B+W filter is constructed, not a chance...
