Could be, but I'm also thinking it could have been "reseller refurbished" (i.e. a return that they've resold, not official Canon refurbished), but the eBay listing does says explicitly "Manufacturer refurbished".

dennisgibson, how pristine were the accessories in the box?

Everything looks brand new. Manuals not opened, charger looks brand new, lens packed perfectly (I know I can never repack them like they came) etc.

Mine came and it wasn't in a white canon refurb box like refurbs usually do, it's in a regular kit box.

Just checked, no pin prick/hole in the serial number plate and not red dot on the lens mount flange of the lens:D

Hah. And now the sale is back at BuyDig via eBay:

Same "refurbished". You know, this is a pretty clever way to get around MAP.

Received my kit. Thought it was used/refurbished but it looks brand new. It came in original box along with all the accessories still wrapped.

Every single one of my readers who reported in (about ten so far) mentioned that they got a brand new 6D + 24-105mm, color box and no refurbished markings.

So indeed this sale was 100% new kits. As other posters noted, this was a very smart way for BuyDig to get around MAP.

Agreed. This was my inkling as well when TheStructured reported that he got a brand new kit. I discussed with him that it could be a way to get around MAP. I wasn't 100% sure though and wanted to wait until I receive mine to confirm. It took about 2 weeks since I placed the order but it's well worth it. I think this is the best deal we have gotten (the last one was $1,949 with LR5 so this is $49 cheaper).

Absolutely. It's the best 6D+24-105mm deal to date, period.

The previous deals were:

  • $1899 for 6D+24-105mm Adorama via eBay (March 2014)
  • $1949 for 6D+24-105mm+LR5 BuyDig via eBay (March 2014)
  • $1939 AR for 6D+24-105mm+PIXMA PRO-100 Printer Adorama (March 2014)
  • $1849 for 6D+24-105mm BestStopDeals (unauthorized) via eBay (December 2013)

(If it's not obvious already, I obsessively keep track of this stuff.)
