What I have learned from this lens so far is I hate waiting. Wish Sigma would speed things up. I feel like a kid waiting for Santa to come and it's only December 5th.

+1.

My solution to this in the past was not to pre-order. It also solves the problem of early QC issue. ... However this lens sucked me in, i was not too concerned with the time frame, but I knew how hard it can be to get some popular Sigma lenses so I broke my no pre-order rule and put in the order. Luckily I have some other toys I'm more than happy to spend time with when I have time for photography so I'm not too anxious, but the reviews have kept up my excitement.

My sentiments exactly. I finally placed a preorder in on the 29th of April and with all the people still waiting on their order from day 1, I think I'm in for a long wait. I check everyday now to see if by chance my lens has shipped.

This is just how I am. I was ready to preorder 30 min after the B&H preorder went live but Ive had bad luck with B&H and love adorama so I waited until I saw theirs live which was a while later. Maybe I should have just went with B&H.
Oh well Im not giving up my spot in line now.

That's actually what has been previously reported. They're playing the long line outside club empty inside game. Well I guess except that in this case it's not that empty inside either.

Does anyone have direct comparisons of the art vs ex? Same subject same f/ stop. I know it's been compared with the Ls and Zeiss, but I was interested in the EX vs Art. I want the Art and want to love it but is it worth being twice the price for a guy on a budget?

Once I get the money here in a month, I would really like to pick this up.

Unfortunately I don't think it will matter if you have the money, no one will have the lens.

I am sure you are referring to back-ordering? The Sigma 18-35 F/1.8 has been having the same issue since January. It's nice to see Sigma getting back on their feet with such amazing glass!
