I wasn't planning to post this but I wanted to make sure fellow POTN members are not Scammed. The below "Canon 5d III - 24-105 Imported(AKA grey market)" for 3049.99 (yesterday when I placed my order it was 3099.99) what a deal from well known Abe of Maine. I used them before with no problem but it seems that are felling into the bait/switch and pressure sales tactics stores.

- You make the order and they hold it and call you by the end of the day telling you that cameras are made in different places, Malaysia japan, india, blah blah blah.

- Accessories are generic but listed as manufacture supplied accessories via website. They still differ you.

- Back to the call they will up sell you for 10 minutes like no tomorrow and waste your time convincing you to buy the USA model with of course extra battery, filters, etc.

- BAD PEOPLE, BAD SERVICE, JUST PLAIN BAD. STAY AWAY. I have a cancelled my order after wasting my time. Oh and that cancel better go through.

I heard this that management changed a few years ago or something. So they should be avoided.

I still can't get over it. Ted told me I had to call customer service to cancel the order yesterday, It was late so I had to call today. I strategically asked, is this customer service, he said yes. I'm 99.9% sure it was Ted the same guy. He has a distinct voice. He didn't want to deal. EVIL.

I would not even call that Preying - I would call it deliberately deceiving. I was a long fan of Abes though recent reports have crossed them from my list.

Again Abe's of Maine's was sold off, and the company that bought them employ all the known bait and switch techniques.

This is a sad story to hear. I have done business with Abe's before, with no problems. You are right, Ted has a distinct voice you can't mistake. Do companies like this really think trying to shove stuff down your throat is a good way to make repeat customers? Again, sad story to hear!

These businesses don't rely on repeat business. Scam based organizations know they have a limited time to scam as many people as they can, then when they get shut down, they open a new site and do it all over again.

BBB is a effin joke. You want to hurt their pocket? Go post on all of their social media sites and if you don't,then all the fuss is for nothing. Watch how quickly everything gets resolved once you hit them where they will least expect.
