Like every other canon 7d fans I'm also waiting for canon 7d mk 2. I search around web but non of the official page found. If it's happening why canon doesn't publish it in their website? what will be the specs? is anyone know?

This weekend in LA there is a huge photography convention. Would be a great place to unveil a new 7 d II however I wouldn't hold my breath! It may never happen.

The 7D II is in all likelihood not going to be replaced directly, like the 1Ds.

who knows what canon is doing. Outside of whatever Canons next announcement getting a better sensor I look at it as just bells , whistles and gimmicks. But i could see them giving you exactly what the 7d has and just putting a sony type sensor in there and then charging whatever they want. Thats the life of being invested in a system.

It almost seems that the new 7DII will be pretty close to what the 1Dm4 was/is.

Unless some new sensor or something happens.
I'm just glad to have a 7D2 thread again

I think could be great if this came true.
Naturally this kill the market for used Canon 1d mark IV especially since similar rumor give an estimated price lower the 2.000 dollars.

Canon is always tight lipped about upcoming products. Confirmation of release dates or items is extremely rare to happen before a month of the official announcement. In the case of the recently released 10-18 while it was rumored to have been working on a wide angle EF-S, most of the details didn't leak until the day or two before the official announcement. Furthermore, the price never leaked before the announcement. As for why, who knows. It's just the way canon does thing.

WHY they don't tell about it is fairly simple.....

Demand for the old product falls off.... People want the new one.... Canon or their dealers get stuck with slow moving inventory.... Also this gives them the chance to fill distribution channels with new product...

All I know is I had the money saved up and put aside for the 7D2. I was in a thread like this and we were talking about the 70D vs the "soon to be released" 7D2. Someone said, it would be a bit like choosing between a Toyota Avalon and a Lexus ES 350, to which another brilliant chatter said "It's more like choosing between a horse and a unicorn. A horse exists and a unicorn is fictional."

I ended up getting a 70D and a 35 f/2 IS. I was going to wait for 6 months after the 7D2 was actually out in the field anyway, so I'm now getting great BIF photographs with the faster frame rate. I am still anticipating the 7D2's release but I'm getting some of it's possible improvements in real time. ;)

All indications are that there is no upper tier crop or ff sensor body coming from Canon this year. At least that's what appears to be coming out of Canon of Japan according to what's been released to the media upto this point.

I held off switching to another company as long as I could but grew tired of waiting for Canon to update their sensors in their higher end bodies. Nothing wrong with the 5DMIII or 1DX sensors but Canon is not pushing the envelope like they could in delivering cutting edge tech to their customers.

So what is so bad with the 7D that everyone needs to upgrade to the 7Dmk2 now? In two years time you'll be having exactly the same conversation re the mk3.

Football is a very simple game. Twenty-two players chase a ball and Germany always win.
