North West 200 - Road racing

Hi all,

Yesterday saw the end of this years road race meeting from the North coast of Northern Ireland. After last years meet was washed out we were blessed with dry weather (nearly)

Unfortunately Simon Andrews and Franck Petricola were both seriously injured in separate crashes and we all hope they make good recoveries.

Here are a few from the days I was there:

1 is cool - 2 would be epic if it wasn't for the hi-viz jacket wearing marshal. Tough break. Looking at 2 again, would it benefit from a tweak to the highlights ??

I wonder if Adobe could come up with an auto remove filter for Hi-Viz

Unfortunately Simon Andrews has passed on. He was a great rider and will be missed by many! RIP.

Yes, another sad day for road racing. One of the most exciting of motorsports but also sadly one of the most dangerous. RIP Simon

Hi Gaza,

It is a good event to shoot, there are some good places along the coast road although as time goes by spectators are moved further and further back. There are places where you can stand behind a fence at the side of the road to watch them pass you 6 feet away at nearly 200mph which is breathtaking, literally.

The Ulster GP is a better road circuit imo as it as more variety, but all good. Must get to the IOM someday too
