May 22, 2014 12:31 | #8585 I went to a private day at the British Wildlife Centre with a load of photographers led by Andy Rouse, excellent day! I took along my 1D3 and 5D3......didn't use the 5 once, have to say, I'm tempted to sell the 5D3 and get a 5D2 for landscape the work, the 1D3 performed flawlessly upto ISO 1600 (no doubt would have gone higher, just didn't need to)......anyhoo, here's a few from yesterday, all taken with my 500. ![]() ![]() ![]() IMAGE LINK: https://flic.kr/p/nGwqAM ![]() ![]() ![]() IMAGE LINK: https://flic.kr/p/nqk4xF ![]() ![]() ![]() IMAGE LINK: https://flic.kr/p/nqju6k ![]() ![]() ![]() 5D3, 7D2, 1D3, 40D, 14 f2.8 Samyang, 17-40 L, 28-80 L, 70-200 2.8ii L, 200 2.8ii L, 200-400 L, 1.4 ii,

I bought a 5D MarkIII today and the 1D3 is going to a new home I hope. Nothing about it not being a good camera. I just need an al rounder that I can take up the hills and not kill my shoulders lol. It's been great to own one and everyone needs to do it.

This weekend, my two youngest kids did a triathlon. I took a big risk on one running shot, and got really close to what I was after. I used my 430EX II off-camera, pointed in the direction of the Sun (but down at the course, not up). Flash is high camera left. This barely cropped, just to help get that first righthand focus point out to the right 1/3. I practiced on a couple other athletes as they came through, adjusting shutter for background exposure and aperture for subject exposure (I don't shoot with flash often enough to just nail it). Anyway, here's my 10 y/o daughter 400m from the finish. ![]() Awesome!!
