Of course its not the same as 1Dx or 5DIII, but its very cabable in low light and atleast for me keeps up very well with birds in flight and sports. I cant see the diffrence when I tested 1D mark IV and 6D side by side, just as fast with same lens (400mm f/2.8) and just as reliable.

I dont get why people complain about 6D, its cheaper so its automaticaly rubbish? Yeah, right...

Very true. The 6D wasn't meant to compete with the 5DIII or 1Dxxx. What it was meant to do was open the full frame camera to more people. That, it has done very well. The debate between the 5DIII and higher end cameras, versus the 6D, has become ridiculous.
I didn't, and I'm sure most people who have the 6D find the camera an excellent tool. I have other things to spend $3000+ on a camera. The 6D could be tweaked a bit, sure. But I am happy with my 6D as is.

Could it be that they have finally "seen the light" and toned down their spite due to the reality of a fine 6D AF system?

More like Kin2son got banned so there's 99% of the naysayers.

Just remember that there are trolls on both sides. And trolls both with and without specific cameras. Any pissing contest of which camera is best or worst is basically driven by trolls, even when the majority of debaters don't want to see themselves as trolls.

No... he isn't trolling anybody there is he?

The guy does nothing but troll the 6d dis-likers. He is no better then they are, if you didnt have a 6d you would see it as well.

I am curious why the usual 6D bashers haven't shown up in this thread yet. Could they be out shooting photos?

Nah. Couldn't be.

Nope no trolling here either, right?

I'm not sure how you can compare a 1D4 to a 6D, the 1D4 should be on another league, just like the 5D3. The 6D is good, even great, but it's clearly a notch below canon's upper tier offerings. For some folks, the sheer convenience of a higher end AF system is enough for the premium. I personally have very little issues with the 6D AF, even the 5Dc's AF, but it's simply not convenient and shouldnt be compared to higher end systems.

Yikes! Apparently I'm a troll now... despite this being the first time I've commented on the whole 6D bashing "thing".

Scoobert wrote in post #16920307 (external link)
Me too. usually followed by pictures posted from a 6d with the center focus point. The 5D guys picking them apart and the 6d guys getting all huffy because they didnt buy it to use a focus point other then in the center. The 5d guys will trump that with focus points while the 6d guys will rave about low light.
6d guys be like------5diii guys are a bunch of rich elitist
5d guys be like------6d guys are just full frame rebel owners

I find both entertaining and wish I had either camera :)

Agreed. These ALWAYS degenerates into a discussion as greatly simplified and characterized by Scoobert, above.

Very tiresome.

And even AFTER I admired and agreed with Scoobert's characterization of the typical outcome of these threads.

Dearest Scoobert, I must have misstated or you have misunderstood my comments. I wholeheartedly agree with your comments on this type of thread. There are plenty of trolls on either side of this fence. I intended to comment in that vein, just as you did... and no more.

If my attempts to agree with you make me a troll, then I am quite confused... and apologetic.

Wow, wait, that's why I haven't seen him lately??? When did this happen? He got annoying with his constant nay-saying, but he was an alright member, he was polite enough at least in the PM's I had with him...

Yeah, that's interesting... I didn't know that either. But I too noticed his absence, now that I think about it.

That's hard to believe! I can easily tell the difference between a 1d3 and a 6D. The 6D definitely takes longer to acquire focus, even with the center point. 6D seems to be more accurate though, when it does hit it. Anybody who wants a 1d-level AF system in a FF camera can pay more for the 5d3 or 1dx, but it's not like the 6D is totally incapable.

As a 70D owner and one looking to add a full frame digital camera to my bag I looked at both the 6D and the 5D Mark III. I went to Aperturent near me and rented the 5D Mark III for a week to see how I liked it in comparison to the 70D as far as image quality, use and setup. I set both cameras up under the same conditions and same lens taking repetitive shots with various settings. I have to say that the image quality as far as clarity are concerned were almost indiscernible unless magnified. When viewed at the printable size, I could tell little difference in image quality. However, the color capture was much more crisp and accurate in the 5D which means a lot to me as a photographer. It had a decent shutter speed, but not as fast as the 70D for when I am doing sports shooting. The 70D's capture speed out ways the color variation, in that if you miss the shot then color variation makes no difference. (Crop of 1.6X is a plus too in sports). In the end I liked the 5D, but not enough to shell out the cost difference between it and the 6D. The comparison between the 5D and the 6D on paper was not enough to sway me to spend the extra money on the 5D. Aside from the better AF system on the 5D there was little advantage to me to put the 5D over the 6D. I use the full frame for portraits, landscapes and stills, so the 61 point selectable cross points versus the 6D's 11 was not discernible enough to sway my thoughts. I did not however, like the thumb joystick on the 5D at all. found it quite annoying to use. However, I have used my 70D's interface and have become accustomed to it which matches the 6D nearly identically. In the end, if price were closer, I would have gone with the 5D. However, I am very happy with my 6D's capabilities and quality of images it produces.

I just checked, you're right, he is banned, really surprised by that. I'm less surprised to see that Hogloff has also been banned, he was straight up rude.

Edited to be more PC ;)
