I'm torn. I definitely want one and every thing tells me that the a7 would be more than enough, but every picture that I see here that makes my jaw drop I see that it's from the a7r. What I may end up doing is get the a7r, the native glass, and pick up the a6000 or a GX7 for the times I need fast AF.

I can easily buy A7 or say should buy A7 first place rather than A7R, but i know i am a landscape shooter and i always praise more mp, so that wasn't a difficult decision for me, and you are right, i saw photos from both cameras, the best i saw are from A7R, exclusively.

I hope my granddaughter doesn't mind me trying to give her a bit of a 'glamour' look. Window light using the Sony 55 f1.8

My first ever macro shot with my A7R + 135L + all 68mm of extension tubes. Handheld

with the focus peaking, i nailed it in one shot. Macro shooter should love the A7R.

what aperture did you use? I don't have extension tubes anymore but I do own Raynox 250 and might try it with 55FE once I get it.

Bwallen, thanks for the tip on TriggerTrap, I'm on their 'wait' list now. Dongle, app, and smartphone should be fun.

This should resolve my last minor complaint w/ the A7R (and the A7S which I have on pre-order).

One more of my granddaughter at f1.8. About that iso and shutter speed...because of the lighting, I thought I rolled the dial to 'auto iso' and didn't notice until I got home that it wound up at iso 50 instead. That made the shutter speed much too slow of course so I only had a couple of keepers.
