Shot using a 180 macro on a 1Ds3, tripod mounted. While they may be technically adequate, I'm groping for an artistic look, whatever that means.
In general, what might I explore differently?

Thank you guys...that second one was taken with a mirror providing backlight from the sun, seems to have worked. The things you do for yourself die with you, the things you do for others live forever.

Up to you what you find pleasing on the eye but I think with flowers it's all about the light, use of DOF (often limited) and the background. To return to these pictures as I am somewhat new to floral stuff...these are crispy due to photo-stacking, pretty but, IMHO, not objects d'art. The things you do for yourself die with you, the things you do for others live forever.
