Shot using a 180 macro on a 1Ds3, tripod mounted. While they may be technically adequate, I'm groping for an artistic look, whatever that means.
In general, what might I explore differently?

Love #2 & #4.
Up to you what you find pleasing on the eye but I think with flowers it's all about the light, use of DOF (often limited) and the background.

Thank you guys...that second one was taken with a mirror providing backlight from the sun, seems to have worked. ;)

To return to these pictures as I am somewhat new to floral stuff...these are crispy due to photo-stacking, pretty but, IMHO, not objects d'art.
How does one know up front what might be a gorgeous flower worthy of a subject...what are your favorites? :confused:
