I'm trying to apply for a rebate on my 17-40 before the offer runs out. Which barcode do I need to cut out from the box? Mine has three, the lens number (serial), an EAN and a UPC. Do I just cut out all three and leave a huge hole in the box? :)

with all the rebate madness, I figured I'd bump this thread.

your rebate will be denied if you don't handle the barcode properly.

you should send the entire barcode, if there are 3 on the box, send all of them, to be safe.
and you have to cut it out, the entire thing. do not peel off the label.

if it makes you feel better, take a picture of it and print it. and put it on the box.

SADLY, this is not true.

"Get cash or check instead of an AMEX card! Once you get your physical AMEX gift card, call 1-888-872-8539, and ask them to “refund” your AMEX gift card either to check (20 days processing time) or ACH it to your bank account (15 days processing time)."

this has NOT worked for me.

Well, I think that if the rebate hasn't arrived in 7 years, you can forget about receiving it

Based on user feedback, this worked in both the Holiday 2013 and the March 2014 rebates. It's possible though that they've changed their policy recently.

The key word to use on the phone with the agents is "refund".

Depending on who you get the process can either take a few minutes or up to half an hour. Ask persistently and ask them why they can't if they refuse.
