Do you use your own, the stock actions, or have you bought actions? I bought the TK luminosity actions and panel, and have to say its the best pp purchase Ive ever made.

As far as commercial actions go, I use these quite frequently.

As far as actions - only ones I've created myself. I will use Topaz & OnOne plugins sparingly.

I mostly use actions I've created, but I've also downloaded two free sets (which I use rarely), and I've on occasion used Photoshop's stock actions.

Well, I haven't used Photoshop much over the past several years, since I got Lightroom, so can't comment much, except I did find Actions useful. Ones I've used I've created myself, although I did tutorials/videos which gave me good ideas. I never went for buying actions, since I figured that most of what would be useful to me I could do myself.

Not that I've gotten anything against buying them, it's a lot like buying plug-ins or presets for Camera Raw/Lightroom, if it saves time that is best spent elsewhere, why not?

One thing I did have fun with...I don't know if it's still available in Lightroom, but back in older versions you could create a PS action and save it as a "droplet" and you could put an icon for that droplet, and drag and drop an image file on it and PS would open and run that action and of course you could set the action to save the result and close Photoshop. Lightroom, at least at the time, had the ability to "see" and send a file into the droplet from the Export box, very handy for those who have one task to do in PS and would like the results brought back into LR (or, say, Saved for the Web)!

Yes, I've downloaded some ACR presets too as free "appetizers." The freebies are generally not real useful, but when I find one I like, I customize it, rename it, and it becomes mine. I can then delete the original.

I apply an ACR preset and then one or more PS actions to just about every image I keep. I've found that practice to result in many more masterpieces.
