I have a 1D MkIIn that I want to get a FF to go with. I'm thinking a 1Ds MkII or a 5D.
Which of these has better performance in the 1600/3200 ISO range?
The N is pretty bad after 800..!!

I think both will perform equal, till 1250 both are good.
If you need high ISO, then better look 6D direction.

If you want high ISO then as was said, get a newer body with newer tech!

For great images, we love the 5DC here because it's more portable than the 1D2 bodies, but that doesn't mean better images, the ISO performance should be about the same.

Two versions of the same scene, one with a slightly different composition to crop out the lingering family. These were also taken with the CYZ Distagon 2.8/28 (it literally didn't come off of my camera for the weekend).

Rolfe, you are really putting your new camera through the paces! The shots look great, and the scenes cover a wide range......I think you have a "keeper"...Joe

Ya man, I try to shoot every chance I get. I like to get acquainted quickly and I also want to get my moneys worth haha.

Definitely a keeper. I just wish I made the switch sooner.

The 5d is OK at 3200, I could live with the grain, and for smaller prints, no issues. It's just that the 6d spoils you rotten. Autoiso is simplistic and works well, and the 5d's I so 3200 is comparable to the 6d's 12800-25600.....

About 2-3 full stops better high I so. Pretty incredible.

Think about the most ridiculous scenario, kids playing under the street lights..... We're almost there.
