Got an email from my Chase credit card that Adorama had charged my card $1069.00 today. I ordered this lens on Feb 18th. Still shows backordered in my Adorama account, but hopefully that will change tomorrow. Have not gotten a message from Adorama yet though...

I wonder how many orders these shipments will cover. If they are covering pre-orders dating back to February, I doubt there are going to be enough to fulfill orders placed in the last month or two. I think I'm going to be waiting quite a bit longer than I had initially anticipated.

Just canceled my order with B&H, Woo hoo!!!, why, cause I found one at Wolfe’s in Topeka and it’s on its way.

I placed my initial order with B&H on 5/7/14. In the mean time I was checking other vendors.

A month ago I went to the trouble of calling every dealer that Tamron had listed on their site in Texas, Louisiana, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Mississippi, Arizona, Utah, Colorado and a few other companies that I had on my list. (It’s amazing just how few camera stores there are). Only one store had one, (Mike’s camera in the Denver, Colorado area) and it was being sold while I was on the phone with the sales person. Everyone had the same story, waiting on stock and taking pre-orders.

I also had item web links for a number of stores, and every couple of weeks, I’d try the links to see if any anyone had any in stock. Well today I checked Wolfe’s and their link showed “in stock”, (been there before) so I called them to double check. Sure enough the sales guy says they had just got a few, all were spoken for with pre orders, but he thought one might be available as one guy backed out (found one somewhere else).

I told him, I have credit card waiting, just call me back and say the word. 30 minutes later I get the call, and to sum it up, lens is being shipped today, 2 day air. He gave me the invoice number and total.

So I called B&H and canceled my order.

Salesman said they received several recently and all but this one was accounted for. So maybe they are starting to show up. I haven’t been this excited to get something since Christmas as a 10 year old.

Nice work. Now I'm one spot closer on the totem poll of pre-orders.

the link is for the 200-500. Read the description:

"Tamron AF 200-500mm f/5.0-6.3 Di LD SP FEC (IF) Lens for Canon Digital SLR Cameras (Model A08E)"

The thread subject is 150-600, not the same at all.

I would not be too enthusiastic about 150-600 on Amazon. They're often advertised there but in fact, they don't have it in stock. It's just there is no note about it on the website. I once got very excited when I spotted this lens on Amazon so I rang them to confirm that they have it in stock and I got a positive answer straight away. As I was a bit suprised and I couldn't believe my luck, I ask them to double check and this time I got the good ol' "no, we don't have it, please keep checking our website". Also, just in case anybody's unaware, Tamron lenses purchased from Amazon come with 1 year seller's warranty only.

Yeah. I ordered from B&H on 04/01. Still waiting. Who knows, they may have hundreds on backorder. Wolfe's in Topeka is 45 minutes from me, but I figured B&H would be faster.

Since nearly 2/3 of those responding to this poll ordered from B&H, we will hopefully have some good news from some of us regarding this latest shipment.

The silver lining in having to wait, is that your lens will come with the new firmware. I got mine in may, and will have to send it to Tamron if I want the update.

Yeah. But the problem is you won't really know if it has new FW or not..
