Well, hey, gang!

You have to know, this is one of my "favored" threads here in POTN, because, well, I love my 5D "Classic", so when Perry Ge started this thread back in '08 when the 5D2 was coming out, we who loved the 5DC banded together! Hey, if you've never checked out the early days, do it and you won't regret it!

Anyway, just wanted to say "Hi"! For the past couple of years I haven't been out much, life changes and all, but I love the shots that come up here from our 5D Classic!

And then, I've gone over shots I actually have taken, the 5DC is still my go-to walk-around camera, and well, it's a bit overwhelming!

Anyway, keep enjoying our "Classic"!

Hi Tony! I totally agree with you about 5DC!

Actually this is my first full frame camera, always wanted it,I mean full frame, but always was stopped because of high prise on a FF cameras.

After some thoughts I was decided to go with 5DC...

...LOVE this camera !!!...Pictures !!!...Color!!! ...everything!

Keep enjoying our "Classic"! :)

I agree with Tony as well. This is my first ff camera too. I had the 550d and hated to lose my 55-250 but I felt ready for ff image quality.

I didn't necessarily feel limited by my 550d, but I loved the artistic quality the 5d lended to images.

Keep on rocking 5dc guys!

Rolfe, did you ever find a way to get the shutter count on your camera?

My first "good" digital camera was the Olympus D-600L (and then the 620L)...I think it had a 1.4 MP sensor. Later, I hit the big league with the Olympus C-2500, 2.5 MP - with a price to match, close to $2,000. You can buy them on e-bay for $50....oh, well. When I had a chance to get the Canon 5D, used from a fellow photo club member, who was buying the 5D Mk2, I jumped at it. Still have the 5D classic as my premium gear. And, well, one only has to come to this site to see how much others revere this gem.

Hey, I still have my trusty ol' 30D, basically a crop "version" of the 5DC, and, hey, the 30D does still get some use!

In fact, I'm fond of saying that I have shots from the 30D that I've printed at nice sizes, 12x16 and 12x18, that I've framed and hung, and at those print sizes I can get up close with a magnifying glass and see good, sharp detail!

But still, working with the 5DC images is sweet, not to mention the nice big prints you can get!

In case anyone is interested, my 5dc is up for sale. Good condition, just a few specs of dust on the sensor. Just to slow for autoracing so I find myself using my 40d more.
