I thought of doing that when I bought my 500/4, but am very glad I didn't. There are those times I just don't want to lug the monster around and the 400 is so easily handheld.

I'm thinking that way about my new Sigma 120-300. It's a great lens, but man it's hefty. The 400 feels like air after using the Siggy.

Some great photos here.
I have been using my 400 5.6 on my 7d a lot for my travels in Madagascar.
It is great because it is light enough to carry around for a walk through the rainforest. It would be nice to have IS (as there is not much available light in the forest). And I'm sure it would be nice to have a faster lens, but then I guess they are much heavier...

Here are a few shots. Generally I have used a Nissin Di866 for fill-flash in these.

As of May 1st, the Image Posting Rules have changed and we went from maximum 1024px to 1280px on the long end.
