It's been spoke about for long enough, what if, what will it be.

Have to say, I'm quietly confident it's coming soon, poss August.

Just seen the 7D price in the UK drop £200 and is now end of life or out of stock. All things that historically have suggested a replacement as was the case when 5DII took an upgrade. Similar things happened to it

All these presistant rumors and seeming delays.
Are you going to buy one as soon as it is released. If not who cares?

Wouldn't buy it straight away. Would let the price drop

I care, and that's all that matters to me. Evidently you don't and that's up to you

I wouldn't hold your breath.

When the 1Dx was rumored to be tested at the Olympics, within a few weeks there were leaked pictures of the test photogs using the cameras (also 5d3 being tested in Africa) by photo enthusiasts. As of yet there have been no captures that would show that this camera is being used at the World Cup, like it is rumored to be.

I know what you mean.

It was just the fact I noticed a £200 drop or $340 for yourself. That's a big drop in price all of a sudden. Got me thinking something's going on

Let me ask you this, if it came out tomorrow, would you buy it?
And not for price, in general, do you hate your 7D that much you want to toss it overboard and get a 7dII? Ive used my 7d now for several years and am anxious to know if the 7dii will be all that and a bag of chips, or should I keep my original thought and go FF.
I really could dig a high ISO, and now RF abilities to control the 600 line of flashes..

I don't have a 7D right now.

I'm about to change my camera, and not having an endless money pit can only make one purchase.

I seen the big price drop as a sign. Perhaps reading too much into it. But if it came out I would buy it.
Currently saving the coins for whatever I'm buying. Will stick with the crop for the effective zoom.
7D was what I planned to buy.

I love my 7D but am waiting for hopefully a 7D II with some better ISO noise in RAW and maybe slightly improved auto focus. I'm having to shoot at 5,000 often for softball games to keep a decent shutter speed. A 5D III would be nice if I could afford it but then I'd lose the crop factor. Right now a 7D II with my 7D for a back up would be great if it's what it's supposed to be. Better than my 7D and 60D back up.

That's my plan too rjharris except my current backup is a 40D.

That's exactly what I have right now. A 7D with a 40D backup awaiting to see if there will ever be an affordable successor to the 7D so I can retire the 40D.

I've got a paltry 30D with no backup. Has served me well though and still get plenty good soccer shots with a 2.8 lens.

Do get more misses than the 7d would though hence why its time to upgrade. Any announcement time is commonly Aug/Sep. No announcement then I'll bite the bullet on a 7D

That's not so paltry. It was a dream camera not too many years ago. And the camera isn't worse now than it was when released.

I do get good shots with it. Nice and sharp with a good lens.

Could do with the better res and autofocus. I've owned the 30D from new and I have taken many great shots with it, but like all good things, they do come to an end and it's end is nigh

Photokina takes place once every 2 years and this is one of those years. Always a good time for new technology announcements

I've also got a 40D, and a 30D as well. My first set up was a 30D brand new. Then I bought a 7D brand new. The little shutter speed knob on the 30D started slipping some so I bought a 40D off E-Bay that works fine. This spring I scored a 60D remanufactured for just a tick over $400.00 I think it was. Neither the 30D or the 40D buffered fast enough to do much with sports so I got a 60D which doesn't buffer nearly as fast as the 7D but faster than the others. Now I've got a 30D and a 40D to trade in on remanufactured units either for a 7D II or if my hobby business gets going a 5D III or IV when it comes out.
