See post #3: https://photography-on-the.net …/showthread.php?t=1384081

It was posted in another thread that Magic Lantern is no longer being actively developed (or at least that was the inference I read into the post). I asked in the other thread but never got a response. I lost touch with it for a while but I have noticed that as I watch it, it has become splotchy over time, meaning it seems to come and go. It does appear that there is some work going on on the 70D.

Does anybody know? Is ML truly dead?

Thanks!

The nightly build for the 60D is as of 6/22/14 at 1700... Doesn't look like it is not actively developed... Whatever that means!

I haven't tried ML as I'm reading 6D is not supported well like the 5DMKIII? It does seem to have a great feature I'd be interested in. Just not sure if I should.

And no apparent movement on the 70D, though in their defense, they usually tend to be more aggressive after the first firmware update has been released which is yet to happen for the 70D.

I think that post was talking about ML specifically for the 5DC. There is a version, but it still has a lot of work needed on it, unlike the T2i/60D/T3i, etc that are on the stable build.

Photography is just a hobby for me.

That post (and the whole thread) was about the ML software for the 5Dc. Nothing has happened on that development for over a year.

Its being developed by different groups for different camera models

The post (#3) was about the ML package specifically for the 5D. The thread itself was not restricted to the 5D - and it was about about the lack of raw histogram display for all Canons and the fact that the ML package (which currently supports many Canon cameras) can display the raw histogram. ML continues development of "comprehensive controls" for Canon cameras, as distinct from the bare bones package Canon provides (compared to what they could provde, at least).

Sorry, you are correct. M y post was is response to Tony's comment about using the
5Dc ML software to better view the raw histogram.

ML runs perfectly fine on the 6D, 7D and 5D II.

I have ML on my 50D. I only use a couple of functions but I like those. When my battery runs down too soon, I think I'll remove it. But then I get over it.
