Just wanted to say thanks for all your great posts here. I am headed up to Yosemite this weekend to try for the Milky Way over Half Dome. So last night I went out into the country for a practice run; probably a little too much smog down here in the valley but I was happy enough with my first attempt.

I'd be happy with that if it was my 100th attempt!

I'm taking the fam out this Saturday to a dark site that was included in our family membership to our local astronomy club, and we'll be trying astrophotography for the first time. I'll be ECSTATIC if I get anything close to this good! Amazing shot!

Well thanks you everyone. I found it quite easy after seeing & reading all your great work here over the months & years.

ExSrAaron: If you are up at Glacier Point Friday night, look for a bunch of old duffers with their tripods set up at the east lookout point :) I will be the younger one in the group, :)
