it's a hell of a combo.... I've been shooting that combo for some time now..... LOVE it (even though it's 50L compared to 50A).

If it's anything better or like the 18-35 ART, i would buy it in a heartbeat. Regret trading my 18-35 for my 16-35 Canon..

I can't find this lens anywhere in the UK. Is there a big shortage?

Pretty much yeah - I was told July at the earliest by most places. I got very lucky and found one through Digital Depot. But looking at the prices here: http://www.camerapricebuster.co.uk …4-DG-HSM-Canon-Fit-A-Lens (external link)

I know that Amazon, whilst cheapest, don't have it. Mathers had me down for one but hadn't been able to get them in as yet, they were hoping for July. SRS had a waiting list. And the others were too pricey for me so I didn't check.

Now that I've got it though, I'm in love with it. Hope you manage to find one soon!

Got mine through London Camera exchange, who knocked off £45 as well, impressive for a lens that most people are struggling to source........

Just ordered one from onestopdigital for £656 which i feel is a good price. Free delivery and no taxes etc.

I usually rock the 35/85 combo at weddings but have felt the need for a 50 recently. My current sigma doesn't quite cut it as i like to shoot wide open. I love the way the sigma renders but i'm getting a few too many misses with it wide open and at more than say 3 meters. Decided to fund the sigma 50 art by selling my 85 1.8 (got the 1.2L any way, and was only keeping the 1.8 for a fast focusing backup, but that seems a bit OTT ;) ), my old sigma 50 and a couple of unused yn560II flashes.

Looking forward to getting it - samples on here look great and reviews are pretty stellar.

Wasn't easy for me to find either. Got it from an Amazon vendor in Japan.

Best packaging I've EVER seen period.
