Definitely cheap, going for about $40 on Amazon

The reviews are a bit iffy though

You are right. Most reviews say that it failed within a few months of normal use.

The only thing that might this ok is the fact that Lexar offers 3 year warranty. If it breaks you can talk to them about getting it exchanged. In a few months they might not have the same model and bump your replacement to a different model.

Bought my D800 from Beachcamera, good online retailer with high marks in customer satifaction from prior customers.

The one thing I thought was pretty funny happened after I placed the order on a Sunday with a notice that I would be receiving an email when shipped. I received the shipping info on a Thursday about an hour after I had already signed for the D800 from the FedEx delivery man.

Wouldn't hesitate doing business with them again though as they sent followup emails asking how satisfied I was with my purchase and wanting feedback on how they may be able to improve in any weak areas that I may have made note of.

My sister, the professional baker and cake decorator once told me that my camera takes great pics. My reply was that I thought her oven baked great cakes.

Buydig has this one on ebay for $19.00 free shipping this week. I just got one. Not the fastest speeds on my desktop but the laptop I have doesn't have 3.0 USB anyway, so works great for the price.
