Actually you are in a great spot since you don't want a "photo" type name. Pick anything. Have any pets? name it after them and have a photo of them on the wall, with the nameplate owners under it. One of my old business was like that and it broke the ice well with people. have some fun with it, something random will get people talking more than something cute
other random names just add studio at the end.
"pigs can fly..."
"the empty room..."
"wrong turn..."
"Lights out..."
2nd place...

---------------Camera, Lens, Flash stuff.. but still wanting more

How about "Uncle Bobs"? Then when people post really bad photos shot in your studio no one will associate you with Uncle Bob. :)

Hi Folks...

So i'm in the process of opening up a new studio in my hometown..

I can't call it Trevor Davies Studio because i'll be hiring it out along with using it for my own work.. so it needs to have a different name..

I have one problem...

What the hell do I name it?? I don't want anything to "photography geek" like Shutterbug Studios or anything like that.. I'm just so stuck on a name... Please help!

Any historical names for you town or region? I live in Austin, TX, and the original settlement was "Waterloo," so I based my business name on that: Waterloo Creative Works (don't bother googling -- I'm not marketing... at ALL). That name fits for software contracting (which I've already done some of under that name), as well as photography and woodworking. Fairly flexible name.

1D MkIV | 1D MkIII | 550D w/grip & ML| EF 70-200mm f2.8L| EF 24-105mm f4L IS | Canon EF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L IS | Samyang 14mm f/2.8 IF ED UMC | 430EXii | EF 50mm f1.8
