I think the reason that people are "defending" the rumor is that it makes sense. A replacement for the 7d is due. It is the rumor forum after all.

What evidence do you have that the rumor is false? You seem more certain that its a false rumor then the the people who believe it's true.

I think we are at the point where there has to be some evidence presented that the rumor is true, since photographers have been at this event for over two weeks. And how exactly can one "prove" there are not 7D IIs in Brazil? I think it is time for the 7D II to show itself or quietly slink away. :)

The latest rumor is that 7DII is "CONFIRMED":

Isn't confirming a rumor a bit like capturing a unicorn? In the end, all you have is a ghost of a wish.

Or...

As my dad used to say, $#!T in one hand and wish in the other. Believe which ever one fills up first.

Call me crazy, but I believe a lot of these rumors. It has been my experience, that the likely hood of a rumor being true increases as the expected release date approaches.

Nothing wrong with optimism and hopefulness. The world would be a sad place without them.

Nah.... "Hope is good." 7DII is real, it will happen. :-)

I thought Canon gave test cameras to bald guys...? no? ;) His camera has got some kind of a skin on it - possibly to protect it, possibly to disguise it, who knows :)

Good point. If the 7D II is out there, it would have made it's appearance at the Winter Olympics or this World Cup. It hasn't shown up at either for field testing, so it isn't going to come out.

How would one know if there is or not one at the world Cup, some guy is not going to just run across the field saying "I have the new 7D mkII".

Just wondering, has Canon Rumors given any prior 7D II rumors a CR3 status like they have on the most recent posting?
