Does anyone regret buying this lens? I'm about to hit buy

That would be impossible. I regret not buying it sooner.

Everything is relative.
Gear: 6D, Unholy Trinity:twisted: (24Lii, sigma 50A, 135L), and for the other ends of the spectrum, sigmaEX 14mm2.8 and sigmaEX 100-300F4.

I agree. This is my favorite lens but my third most used (out of a handful). Mine, at f/1.4, is as sharp as my 24-70 II was at f/2.8.

Probably not the most practical FL but the lens is outstanding.

As long as you don't buy it strictly for shooting stars, you will love it.

I agree. To play devil's advocate, I actually just sold mine a week ago and kept the Sigma 35 instead. I loved this lens for IQ, but I realized that nearly every shot from it was too wide for my liking and the extra 10mm puts me in the range that I'm more naturally comfortable with. As far as typical two-FL combos go, I feel like one will be happy with either the 24/50 or the 35/85, but anything in-between is a bit too close to each other in my opinion.

I use 35/85/24 extensively for my editorial assignments and weddings. 24mm is my least used, but when its right, its so right.

This recently came up in the FS section.
Though it is not my lens, I figured if any subscribed missed the FS listing, here is the link:

Quick question guys - I've been thinking about picking this lens up used. Are there any date codes to look out for?
