When I first heard this lens was coming it I was pretty "meh" about it - but after seeing these first results - wow is all I can say. They did one heck of a job updating the 17-40. So sharp!!!!!!

i had a couple of weeks to play with the new lens and i love it - big improvement from 17-40mm and i like the extra 1mm at the wide end...

I think this lens is a winner compare with 16-35 2.8 L
better optics and IS plus cheaper!

I was a huge fan of the Nikon 16-35 f4 VR when I was shooting Nikon so I'm excited to see this in Canon line up. Looking to be just as good as the Nikkor too!
